Appalachian added their 14th commitment of the 2016 football recruiting class on Sunday when Jawan Nobles of Smyrna, Georgia made his pledge to the program. Recruiting coordinator Scot Sloan let #AppNation know something was coming on his twitter account
Nobles, 6-3, 180 lbs out of Smyrna, GA gives the class their second large wide receiver threat of the class to go along with the previously committed Chrisjohn Roscoe at 6-2 200 lbs. Reportedly, Nobles also adds speed with a 4.4 40 time. Like most freshman, I would imagine he will be looking to add weight when he comes up the mountain. He is currently the same weight, but an inch taller than Shaedon Meadors or the same height as Zy Letman, but 15 lbs smaller than the junior.
At the FBS level teams usually recruit to replace their juniors of which the Mountaineers have two wide receivers. So, assuming they can hang onto these players through signing day they should be in pretty good shape at the position, already.
247 sports reported that Bryan Brown was his primary recruiter, but incoming qb Zeb Noland was also active in getting the weapon to come to Boone. Other schools considering the wideout were both MTSU and Georgia State.
The speedy receiver makes the fourth commitment of the class from the Atlanta area and 9 of the 14 (64%) from either the Atlanta or Jacksonville regions.
