Students help add to Habitat’s Greenwood Community

The Appalachian State University Habitat club and other student volunteers worked on the third home in Boone’s Greenwood Community, a development of homes built by Habitat for Humanity, on Saturday.

The two-story, three-bedroom home is being built on Habitat’s 20-acre piece of land behind Green Valley Elementary School in Boone.

Habitat’s Greenwood community was first started in April of 2010 and has plans of building a total of 18 to 20 houses. The community consists of only Habitat-built homes.
