BOONE, N.C. – App State women’s soccer fell to Georgia State in overtime, 2-1, in the Sun Belt opener on Thursday evening at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex.
Appalachian falls to 0-3 on the year and 0-1 in Sun Belt play while Georgia State improves to 2-0 and 1-0 in league action.
The score was 0-0 in the first frame until Drew Hallum found the back of the net in the 43rd minute to give the Black and Gold a 1-0 lead. It’s the first-career goal for Hallum after freshman Izzi Wood tallied the assist and her first collegiate point.
The Black and Gold went into the break with a 1-0 edge, and held the visitors scoreless until GSU’s Jolie Ryff tied up the contest in the 84th minute.
