LOUISVILLE, KY – App State field hockey rallied offensively in a 4-2 victory on MAC opponent Bellarmine’s home turf Sunday.
In the first two minutes of the game, senior midfielder Friederike Stegen assisted Pauline Mangold on a corner play to give the Mountaineers an early advantage.
With that assist, Stegen recorded her fifth of the season and broke the program record for career assists with 23, passing former player Taylor Cimbalist.
In the second period, junior forward Sarah Farrell secured App State’s second goal off of Mangold’s assist to give her team a two point lead at the half. Farrell leads the Mountaineers in goals this season with four.
